Not clear on the auction.  Maybe Andy passed and they bid 1D-1S-2N-4S.  The opponents bid 4♠ by North making a routine 5.  -650 was only worth 6/17.  Somehow there were 6 620s (and a 230).

  1. Seems reasonable that at many tables East opened and after getting to game in spades, North (after maybe two rounds of hearts and pulling trumps?) took the shot of hooking the diamond through opener, looking to pitch a club. After that there are only ten tricks.
